The quality of life was one's living experience as affected by their circumstances and the amenities available to them.
In 2366, Nayrok assured Captain Jean-Luc Picard that those living on Lunar V were given a fine quality of life, Picard reminded them that nonetheless, it was a prison. (TNG: "The Hunted")
Later that year, "Locutus of Borg" asked Worf why he resisted assimilation, as the Borg would increase all species' quality of life. Worf explained that he preferred the Klingons as they were. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds")
In 2372, Tuvok, while representing Quinn in his request for political asylum from the Q Continuum, asked that Quinn's quality of life should he be imprisoned should be considered. (VOY: "Death Wish")
