Prognosis

A prognosis was a medical term for a physician predicting the course of a disorder or disease.

In 2259, Doctor Joseph M'Benga noted that his cygnokemia-diagnosed daughter Rukiya had a 12-week prognosis. (SNW: "Ghosts of Illyria")

In 2265, during his confrontation with the mutated Gary Mitchell and Elizabeth Dehner, James T. Kirk asked Dehner to recall her training as a psychiatrist and observe what was happening to Mitchell. Kirk asked her for a prognosis of Mitchell. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
