Point-blank range

Point-blank range was the smallest range to an object. For Constitution-class starships in the 2260s, point-blank range was less than fifty meters for the phasers.

In 2266, the USS Enterprise destroyed an alien cube at point-blank range with phaser fire. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver")
