A plow was a type of farm implement used to break up the dirt

Such a tool was used for farming on Gaia in 2373. (DS9: "Children of Time")

In 2376, while sermonizing as "Father Mulligan" in the Fair Haven holoprogram, The Doctor told the story of two farmers, one of whom broke the other's plow and refused to replace it. The plow's owner retaliated by obstructing his "enemy"'s irrigation ditch. (VOY: "Spirit Folk")
