Playmobil is a brand used for a line of popular 7.5 cm-tall toy figures (and its associated products) and is owned by the Brandstätter Group (geobra Brandstätter Stiftung & Co. KG) of Zirndorf, Germany.

Created by German inventor Hans Beck and debuting in 1974, Playmobil's "toy system" is widely considered to be in direct competition with products made by Danish toy giant, LEGO. As of 2021, more than 3.5 billion of Playmobil's stylized plastic figures have been produced. [1]

USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Playset

In June 2021, the brand's owners announced that a licensed USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Playset will join the line (as release number 70548). Its retail debuted in September 2021.

The playset includes the 42 inch-long starship miniature and seven crew figures of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scott, Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov (as seen in Star Trek: The Original Series), six tribbles, six chairs, a built-in command chair (within the bridge play area in the saucer), a dilithium crystal chamber (for the Engineering play area in the secondary hull), a scaled dedication plaque, and a number of other parts and accessories.

The ship features electronic lights and sound effects, a display cradle (stand) and ceiling mount apparatus (both shaped like Starfleet delta insignia), a smart device command app utilizing Bluetooth 4.0, and is charged through a Micro-USB B port. The 148-piece set retailed for about US$500 at launch. [2]
