A photokinetic hologram was a type of hologram created by the holosuites in Quark's Bar on Deep Space 9.

Although Vic Fontaine was an example of a photokinetic hologram, his matrix was not standard for that type. He could turn himself off and he could choose not to appear. (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")
