Pat on the head

A pat on the head was a gentle touch on someone's head, typically used as a gesture of affection, approval, or comfort.

In 2375, when asked by Ezri Dax about how much he was expecting to get out of Zek, Quark replied, "Knowing the Nagus, I'd say a pat on the head and a fistful of empty promises." (DS9: "The Emperor's New Cloak")
