Palgrave Macmillan, formerly known as Palgrave, is a UK-based global academic publisher specializing in scholarly books and journals in various subjects including business, economics, politics, social sciences, and the humanities.

Star Trek-related books it has published include Star Trek: Parallel Narratives and The Politics of Star Trek.

Palgrave Macmillan was established in 2000 with the integration of the scholarly and academic divisions of publishers St. Martins Press and Macmillan Press. The division was known as “Palgrave” until 2002 when it rebranded as “Palgrave Macmillan”.

In 2008, Palgrave Macmillan entered into a partnership agreement with the British Film Institute to take over producing, publishing, marketing, selling, distributing, and managing books published by BFI Publishing, including BFI TV Classics - Star Trek.

In 2012, the company established the Palgrave Pivot division dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed scholarly material in the humanities, social science, and business of lengths longer than a typical journal article and shorter than a monograph. Star Trek-related material published under this imprint include The Absolute and Star Trek in 2016 and Star Trek and the Politics of Globalism in 2018.
