Oriana

Oriana was a female Human child, daughter of Livian and Stell, who went missing in 2257. She was then found by the USS Peregrine under Captain Alice Gavin in 2259.

She, along with an Orion named Pasko and an alien named "Buckley", were found on a class M planet during the Peregrine's mapping mission. Unbeknownst to Oriana and Captain Gavin's crew, Pasko and Buckley had been impregnated with Gorn eggs. When the eggs hatched, Oriana and Buckley were left aboard the Peregrine after it landed on Valeo Beta V and the crew tried to lure the Gorn outside of the ship. Oriana watched as the crew tricked the Gorn hatchlings into going outside. She and Buckley barricaded themselves on in one of the Peregrine's compartments on deck 5.

She and Buckley were then found by a landing party under Captain Christopher Pike from the USS Enterprise. She was questioned by Pike's security chief, Lt. La'An Noonien-Singh about why they did not reveal anything about Pasko's Gorn eggs. She watched in horror as the Gorn egg inside Buckley hatched and killed him along with Cadet Chia. Oriana was then found by Nurse Christine Chapel and Noonien-Singh behind a crate on deck 5.

She was then carried by Dr. Joseph M'Benga to the Peregrine's bridge and was allowed to sit in the captain's chair. When the Enterprise returned and towed the Peregrine, Oriana was brought onboard the Enterprise. Noonien-Singh decided to take a leave of absence in order to help Oriana to find her family.
