Nepotism

Nepotism was the practice of unfairly favoring a relative over other equally qualified candidates for a position or promotion.

In 2402, the newly-commissioned Ensign Jack Crusher opined that "a little nepotism" was involved in his rapid advancement through Starfleet officer training given that his parents were the renowned Admirals Jean-Luc Picard and Beverly Crusher. (PIC: "The Last Generation")
