A national dish was a common type of food that was associated with a particular nation.

According to an unreliable and unverified account, the national dish of Bragu's species was leftover fish cooked in a microwave.

When the USS Enterprise made first contact with Bragu's people, they offered their national dish to the away team from the Enterprise. Commander William T. Riker was concerned since they didn't wash their hands before cooking it. Bragu then told Mucara that she forgot to put sauce on the fish, and he immediately blew snot out of his nose onto the fish. This disgusted the away team from the Enterprise, and they left. (VST: "Worst Contact")
