The National Security Agency (or NSA) was an intelligence agency of the United States of America in the 20th and 21st century whose focus was national security. This agency was part of the Department of Investigation.

Among the three fake ID cards prepared for Gary Seven upon his arrival from a hidden, helpful world a thousand light years away, one gave him the identity of an NSA colonel, authorized by Franklin. (TOS: "Assignment: Earth")
