Munition was a broad term that sometimes referred to ammunition, but also any weapon which used ammunition, and any piece of military equipment or device in general.
Ultritium compound 902 was a weapons-grade chemical explosive compound used in small munitions devices and type 43 fusion detonators. (TNG: "Night Terrors")
In 2373 during the Q Civil War, Q was injured by Q weapons which were perceived as cannonballs and lead charges.
