Mitchell S. Block worked as DGA Trainee on the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "First Contact". Block also worked as extra camera assistant on the episode "Redemption" and in the camera and electrical department on several episodes of the fifth season.

Beside his work on Star Trek, Block worked as second assistant camera operator on Just One of the Guys (1985), Batteries Not Included (1987, with Selwyn Eddy and Pat Sweeney), and The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988, with Leo Napolitano) and as first assistant camera operator on Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991), Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (1999), and The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing (2004).
