Mile per hour

In the final revised draft script for "Where No Man Has Gone Before", [1] mile per hour was a measure of velocity defined by calculating how many miles an object could travel in one hour. In James T. Kirk's narration at the opening of the episode, he said that the Milky Way Galaxy was "so vast that even traveling at millions of miles per hour it would still take millions of years to cross through it".
