Mercury Seven

Mercury Seven was the name given to the seven astronauts of Project Mercury. These astronauts performed many firsts for the United States of America space program, including being the first American in space and the first American to orbit Earth. Alan Shepard and John Glenn were members of this group. (PIC: "Two of One")

Gus Grissom, Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, Wally Schirra, and Deke Slayton were also members of this group.
