Melkotian planet

The Melkotian planet was an inhabited planet inside Melkotian space in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. This world was the homeworld for the Melkots, a non-humanoid telepathic species.

First contact was made by the USS Enterprise in 2268. (TOS: "Spectre of the Gun")

Background information

In the revised Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library (Beta Quadrant: Local Space Extract), there was a star system named Melkotia which might have an association to this planet. The system was located in the Beta Quadrant.

Apocrypha

In The Worlds of the Federation, Melkot was the second in the Theta Kiokis system.

In the book Star Trek: Federation - The First 150 Years, the planet was called Melkotia.
