The mark of Cain was a symbol mentioned in the Old Testament.

In 2022, La'An Noonien-Singh compared the stigma of being related to Khan Noonien Singh to wearing a scarlet letter, similar to the mark of Cain. (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")
