Mark Brake (born 31 October 1958; age 66) is a Welsh author and former professor who wrote The Science of Star Trek: The Scientific Facts Behind the Voyages in Space and Time.

Brake was a professor of science communication at the University of Glamorgan. He is also the author of books about the science of other pop culture franchises including Star Wars, The Big Bang Theory, James Bond, and Doctor Who.
