Mak'ala was the capital city of the planet Trill, home to the sacred Caves of Mak'ala and the Symbiosis Commission.

In 2371, the Captain Benjamin Sisko, Jadzia Dax and Doctor Julian Bashir beamed down to the Symbiosis Commission in Mak'ala, attempting to treat resurfacing memories of the Dax symbiont. (DS9: "Equilibrium")

Mak'ala was listed among planetary data on Trill in the USS Discovery's planetary catalog. (DIS: "Forget Me Not")

The city went unnamed in "Equilibrium", though the establishing shot and view outside Jadzia Dax's window was identified as the "Trill capitol [sic] city" in the script. [1] The capital was first named Mak'ala in Star Trek: Star Charts, and later listed onscreen in "Forget Me Not."
As capital, it was likely Mak'ala was the seat of the Trillian government.
