Main power plant

The main power plants, also known as main power banks were energy-production components aboard certain Federation starships.

In 2267, Captain James T. Kirk received a full damage evaluation from Lieutenant Commander Spock about the USS Constellation in which all power plants were dead. (TOS: "The Doomsday Machine")

In 2268, Doctor Richard Daystrom ran tests on the M-5 multitronic unit in engineering and determined that it must be hooked into the USS Enterprise's main power plants in order to be operative. Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott wouldn't allow the necessary power without orders from Captain James T. Kirk. (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer")
