mRNA

mRNA, short for messenger RNA, was a sub-type of RNA.

In 2257, when discussing the possibility of creating a new time suit, Commander Michael Burnham gave the fact that her mRNA was the closest genetic match to the DNA of her mother, Gabrielle Burnham, as the reason she and not Christopher Pike should be the one to use it. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow")
