Lydia Tracy (born 26 December 1967; age 57) is an actress and model who appeared as a Starfleet lieutenant in several third season episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. As a background actress she received no credit for her appearances. On the call sheets she is listed as Lydia Tracy. Following her marriage to Mats G. Carlston – partner at the law firm Winston & Strawn – she has been known as Lydia Carlston.

Tracy was a dance major at the Philadelphia School for the Creative and Performing Arts. She has worked on theatre, television, national and international commercials, and print ads. As model, she walked fashion runways in Paris, London, New York, and Tokyo.

Besides Star Trek, she also appeared in the HBO series Sex and the City (starring Kim Cattrall), worked on commercials and print ads for Exelon Patch, Post Shredded Wheat, Corcoran, Gardasil, SAP, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, and Scholastic. Among her print ads and modeling shots are pictorials in magazines such as Vogue, Essence, Le Jardin de Mode, Donna, French Elle, Family Life Magazine, Heart and Soul, Redbook, Self, and Women's Day.

Behind the scenes she worked as boom operator in the sound department on several productions such as the television movie Long Shadows (1994, with Matt Frewer, Kimberly Cullum, Paul Collins, and Fumiko Hamada).

Tracy continued studies at NYU in the area of marketing music and entertainment and theatre studies. She also studied classical and modern theatre at the British American Drama Academy in London, UK. She has been a member of the Screen Actor's Guild, the Actor's Equity Association, and is a board member and president of the American Friends of BADA and Harlem School of the Arts. [1] [2]
