Lumbar support

A lumbar support was a device that supported one's lower back, preventing injury.

In 2154, Jonathan Archer advised Hernandez to have a lumbar support installed on the captain's chair on the Columbia, as she would be spending many hours in the chair. (ENT: "Home")
