Low-intensity burst

A low-intensity burst was a specialized phaser configuration.

In 2370, during an apparent hull resiliency evaluation with Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge, Ensign Taurik offered to reconfigure his phaser rifle to fire a low-intensity burst that would not harm the shuttlecraft Curie's hull and the test procedure would not be affected. (TNG: "Lower Decks")
