Livelihood

A livelihood was one's source of income, consisting of a job and/or investments, by which an individual was able to support themselves.

In March 21, 2153, Captain Jonathan Archer explained to Skalaar, "The Klingons took your freighter, your livelihood, damaged your relationship with your brother, and what do you get in exchange? Nine thousand darseks. Doesn't seem like a very fair trade to me." (ENT: "Bounty")
