Lingta

The lingta was an animal native to Qo'noS. It was consumed by Klingons.

Among the people of the Mekro'vak region on Qo'noS, it was traditional for a suitor to bring the leg of a freshly killed lingta to the first courtship dinner, as a demonstration of his desire to provide for the subject of his affections.

Upon Worf's advice, in 2373 Quark presented a lingta leg to Grilka to court her. He later remarked that the leg "tasted really bad." (DS9: "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places")

Later that year, Jake Sisko prepared a lingta roast for his father. (DS9: "Rapture")
