Life deck

A life deck was a designated area aboard Federation starships that housed essential life services, escape pods, or other escape craft to be utilized in the event of an emergency onboard ship.

Crew would be assigned to gather on the life deck as a measure of last resort in the event of failing or otherwise disabled life support. (PIC: "No Win Scenario")
