Lieven Litaer
Lieven L. Litaer (born 29 March 1980; age 45) is a Belgian architect, publisher, author, singer, and translator, living on Germany. He is primarily known for his knowledge and efforts teaching and spreading the Klingon language worldwide, primarily in Germany. Litaer is among the few people who speak Klingon fluently. He teaches Klingon on his YouTube channel and frequently talks at sci-fi conventions.
In 2017 he was hired by Netflix to provide Klingon subtitles for the first season of Star Trek: Discovery, which were available worldwide (except Canada and the US, where DIS was aired on a different provider. He also translated Netflix' press release and spoke in a video commercial. [1]
Litaer was involved in the overhaul of the Klingon star maps in the second edition of the book Star Trek: Stellar Cartography by Larry Nemecek.
Based on his annual language course that began in 2002, he founded the Deutsches Klingonisch-Institut in 2019, which is basically a German partner institute to the Klingon Language Institute.
