A license number was a combination of numbers and letters printed on a license plate and used to identify a particular car. The Ford truck found floating in space by USS Voyager had the license number 6T 593. (VOY: "The 37's")

In 2004, a police car that arrested Loomis had the license number "E3 527". (ENT: "Carpenter Street")

In 2022, a 2000 Ford Focus had the license number "JT22 K33", a Chevrolet Cruze had the number "CL29 LFP", and a Volvo XC90 had the number "CJLA 423". (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")

At the time of this episode's filming (2022), new, non-vanity 7-character Ontario license plates had only been issued with first letters up to C. The current format being issued consists of four letters followed by three numbers, so the JTK plate breaks these rules.
The license number on the Ford Focus is a reference to Kirk's initials (JTK) and birth year (2233).

In 2024, a Chrysler Pacifica encountered by Seven of Nine in Los Angeles had the license number "2ASQ321". A police car had the number "9999972". (PIC: "Watcher")
