A lalogi orb

A lalogi orb was an object precious to the Akaali. Every family owned one, which contained a record of their heritage. The orb could display this information as a holographic tree holding portraits of all family members. New family members would be scanned and added into the orb when they came of age.

On Radvek V in 3160, Felix stole the lalogi orb from the Doxica family along with other items, not understanding its significance until after he had been sentenced to life imprisonment. He hid the orb from the prison guards for the next thirty years, until he gave it to Captain Michael Burnham in 3190 to return to the family. Burnham carried out his wish and brought the orb to Patri Doxica. (DIS: "The Examples")

Burnham was subsequently inspired to create her own holographic tree containing images of her loved ones. Zora later created one as well. (DIS: "Stormy Weather")
