Knitting was the process of weaving yarn together to produce a textile or article of clothing.

In 2267, Doctor Leonard McCoy opined that if a hostile entity were to enter a tranquilized lifeform's body, it might take up knitting, but little else (i.e. it would be reduced to relative harmlessness). (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")
