A kithara

The kithara (or cithara) was a musical instrument, similar to a lyre, that was popularized in ancient Greece.

In 2268, the Platonians gave Spock a kithara as a gift, and later forced him to play it while under their control. (TOS: "Plato's Stepchildren")
