K'ruvang

Doctor K'ruvang was a Klingon scientist active in 2384. He was the house geneticist for the Klingon Empire, ordered by Chancellor Martok to find a way to defeat the ancient Klingon blood enemy, the tribble.

He landed his Bird-of-Prey on an Class M planet and worked out of it as a laboratory, focusing on genetic manipulation and hormonal retroviruses. After many years, he found a weakness in the tribbles' DNA, but his experiments went wrong and the tribbles on the planet became stronger, being dubbed omega tribbles by the doctor. Having lost his honor, he was unable to leave the planet until he could defeat his enemy.

He and Starfleet's Rok-Tahk eventually found a way to reduce both the size and reproduction rate of the tribbles on the planet, and he was able to return home with his honor restored. (PRO: "A Tribble Called Quest")
