Jingle

A jingle was a short song used in various types of advertisements.

In 2376, B'Elanna Torres built an antique television set, circa 1956, as a gift for Tom Paris. She programmed the set with cartoons she found in the USS Voyager database, and included advertisements. Torres told Paris that according to her research, jingles were inserted into entertainment programs of the era. Although she found them confusing, Torres retained them for authenticity. (VOY: "Memorial")

A commercial for Tribbles cereal featured the jingle "when your tummy needs a nibble, pour a bowl of tribbles". (ST: "The Trouble with Edward")
