Jesse Chavez worked in the camera and electrical department of Star Trek: The Next Generation as the crab dolly grip. He received no screen credit but is listed on several call sheets.

He also worked as dolly grip on Arachnophobia (1990), L.A. Story (1991), the television short film Present Tense, Past Perfect (1995, with Julie Cobb and Bruce Davison), the short drama The Chosen One (1995, with Michelle Forbes and Jessie Lawrence Ferguson), The Grass Harp (1995, with Roddy McDowall and Mia Kirshner), Broken Arrow (1996, with Christian Slater), Dante's Peak (1997), Desperate Measures (1998), Hope Floats (1998), and Letters from a Killer (1998).

Beside his work behind the camera, Chavez also had featured acting parts in the 1987 drama Lust for Freedom and in the 1996 drama Stripshow.
