Jason Bonnell is a location scout who, very early in production, worked on Star Trek by photographing some possibilities in New Mexico. No locations were ever actually chosen there, though.

Bonnell has spent twenty years in restaurant and hospitality businesses, and has worked as an executive chef and as a general manager for hotels and restaurants. He also owned his own catering company. In addition, he has spent six years as Media Liaison at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

He was a Craft Services Assistant in Employee of the Month (2006, featuring Andy Dick and Sean Whalen). He then served as Assistant Location Manager on Wild Hogs (2007), and The Eye (2008), working with Becky Brake on both productions. He was also a location scout on The Eye. He has scouted locations for the USA Network series In Plain Sight, as well.

Bonnell has also scouted locations for Love N' Dancing (2009, directed by Robert Iscove). In addition, he was Assistant Location Manager on Appaloosa (2008) and Not Forgotten (2009, starring Mark Rolston). Bonnell also worked as Assistant Location Manager on Saint John of Las Vegas (2009, featuring Star Trek's John Cho).
