James Nicholas Callis (born 4 June 1971; age 54) is a British actor who portrayed Maurice Picard, and an illusory Starfleet psychiatrist in his image, in the Star Trek: Picard episodes "The Star Gazer", "Monsters", and "Hide and Seek".

Callis is best known for playing Dr. Gaius Baltar in Ronald D. Moore's reimagined Battlestar Galactica (with Karen Austin, Bruce Davison, Michelle Forbes, Paula Malcomson, Brian Markinson, John Pyper-Ferguson, Callum Keith Rennie, Rekha Sharma, Mark A. Sheppard, Dean Stockwell, Kate Vernon, Nana Visitor, Sam Witwer, and Rick Worthy). John Colicos, who played the original iteration of Baltar, also guest starred on Star Trek as Kor. Callis also appeared in 12 Monkeys (created by Terry Matalas).
