Jackson Sleet
Jackson Sleet (born 20 August 1947; age 77) is a retired actor who appeared as an alien miner in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fifth season episode "The Perfect Mate". He filmed his scenes on Friday 21 February 1992 on Paramount Stage 8. Starfleet uniform trousers worn by him were sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1]
Sleet worked as actor, background talent, and stand-in on various television series and films between 1982 and his retirement in 2001. He appeared in films such as the science fiction comedy Project X (1987, with William Sadler, Robin Gammell, Daniel Roebuck, Ward Costello, Shelly Desai, Dick Miller, and Bob Minor), the comedy Down Periscope (1996, with Kelsey Grammer, Mitchell Danton, James Harper, Andrew English, Danny Nero, Adrian Tafoya and Steve Giralo), and television series such as Married... with Children and 7th Heaven (1999, starring Catherine Hicks and Stephen Collins).
His work as stand-in include the drama Mistress (1992, with Stefan Gierasch). He also worked as stand-in for Kelsey Grammer on the first two seasons of Frasier (1993-1995) and Down Periscope (1996).
In 2001, Sleet worked as "nude" model for the animated body of Shrek during pre-production of the animated film Shrek. Following this, he retired from acting and moved with his wife back to his hometown in Alexandria, Louisiana where he operated his land management company Jackson Sleet Properties. [2]
