Jack White (7 May 19447 May 2008; age 64) [1] worked as a grip in the camera and electrical department of Star Trek: The Next Generation and as Best Boy Grip on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He received no screen credit but is listed on the call sheets.

According to fellow grip Bill Witthans, "Jack White was the funniest man I have ever met on a set even funnier than my ex brother in law Ted Lewis! Jack had a cutting whit and an acid tongue! of course it was like a double edge sword made him a favorite of some and detested by others! It is so true that you do not really miss people till they are gone, I miss you Jack..." [2]

White was initiated into the IATSE Local 80 grip union in 1973. His credits as electrician, gaffer, or grip electrician include Sword of the Valiant: The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (1984), Prick Up Your Ears (1987), Vroom (1990), Fierce Creatures (1997), EverAfter (1998), Entrapment (1999), Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Shadow of the Vampire (2000), the television thriller Bait (2002), Mrs Henderson Presents (2005), Nanny McPhee (2005), Flyboys (2006), The Golden Compass (2007), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), and its sequel Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009).
