Inverted plasma distributor
An inverted plasma distributor was a component of the warp drive on California-class starships.
In 2380, Ensign Brad Boimler asserted that the sound of the USS Cerritos's engines had a higher pitch than those of the USS Enterprise-D because of the inverted plasma distributors. However, Ensign Beckett Mariner insisted it was actually due to the vibrations in the dilithium dispersement manifold. (LD: "Terminal Provocations")
