Inverse phasing

Inverse phasing was a 23rd century transporter technique.

In 2267, Spock instructed Montgomery Scott to attempt inverse phasing as a means of beaming Captain James Kirk from the USS Constellation only seconds before it rammed into the planet killer. (TOS: "The Doomsday Machine")
