Intellectual

An intellectual was an intelligent, learned person, especially one who would discourse about learned matters.

In 1953, Douglas Pabst dismissed the works of W.E.B. DuBois, Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, Ralph Ellison, and Richard Wright as "literature for liberals and intellectuals", saying the average reader wouldn't spend their money on stories written by Negroes. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")

In 2286, the Klingon Ambassador to the Federation described Vulcans as "the intellectual puppets of this Federation." (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

While having a discussion with Deanna Troi, Data asked if he did not appear more intellectual when he would stroke the beard thusly. (TNG: "The Schizoid Man")
