Incubation cycle
The incubation cycle was the time elapsed between an exposure to a pathogenic organism, a chemical, or radiation, and the appearance of symptoms.
In January 8, 2154, when Captain Jonathan Archer and doctor Phlox were discussing the unhatched eggs, Archer asked about the hatchery and when the eggs would mature, and Phlox replied that without knowing more about their incubation cycle, it was impossible to say, but probably no more than a week at most.
