Howard family home

Beverly Crusher and Deanna Troi enter the Howard family home after Crusher's grandmother's funeral

The Howard home was a two-story cottage in the Caldos colony on the planet Caldos with minimal technological amenities. Felisa Howard lived there from the mid-24th century until her death in 2370. It was only a few minutes walk from the colony's cemetery. (TNG: "Sub Rosa")

Sometime after the the disaster on Arvada III, Felisa and her granddaughter Beverly Crusher moved to the house. Beverly would reminisce about her grandmother telling ghost stories by the fireplace with only candles burning.

In the spirit of the colony's historic Scotland-aesthetic, there were few obvious indicators the house existed in the 24th century, though Felisa did keep a replicator and a desktop monitor. Felisa further decorated with dried flowers and hanging herbs, mirrors, and antique books.

Over the years since Crusher lived at the house, Felisa relied on the anaphasic lifeform Ronin for companionship. Starting in 2365, colonist Ned Quint took an active role in taking care of Felisa's house and affairs.

Following Felisa's death in 2370, the house was left to Beverly Crusher. Beverly invited Ned Quint to stay at and maintain the home, though he was killed not long after. (TNG: "Sub Rosa")

The "Howard Home" is described in the script as: "A large, open living area. The LIVING ROOM is adjacent to a SITTING ROOM... and there are doors to suggest other rooms. There is a stairway leading up to an offscreen second story. The decor should suggest an earlier time and way of life -- a warm Scottish country home from the early 19th century. Herbs and other exotic-looking medicinal ARTIFACTS can be seen throughout the house. And there are a few 24th century devices in evidence -- a replicator, computer terminal, etc."
