The Homicide Squad was a group of police officers who investigated murders.

In 1968, Gary Seven had a false identification card which stated he was a lieutenant in New York City Police Department's Precinct 81 Homicide Squad. (TOS: "Assignment: Earth")

The script for the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "The Big Goodbye" identified Lieutenant McNary as a homicide squad detective in the San Francisco Police Department's Precinct 12.
