Hellbird

Hellbird was a computer virus that affected the USS Enterprise-D in early 2367, during the time that Captain Jean-Luc Picard had been transformed into Locutus of Borg. The virus scrambled the navigational system and randomly added three to every digit.

In 2401, Doctor Beverly Crusher sent a distress call to Picard containing her coordinates, which seemingly led to empty space, and the word "Hellbird". Captain William T. Riker recognized this reference and obtained the true coordinates by adding three to all the digits, revealing Crusher to be in the Ryton system. (PIC: "The Next Generation")
