Heavy metal music was a subgenre of rock and roll that developed in the United States and the United Kingdom in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
It was known for its' heavier, harder sound then that of previous genres of rock and roll. It was primarily played on a heavily distorted electric guitar.
In 2024, there was a sign at Deacon's that advertised a heavy metal show called "Metal Fest". (PIC: "Monsters")
In 2380 on the USS Cerritos, Ensign Beckett Mariner interrupted Brad Boimler's violin concert to play heavy metal music. She played the electric guitar, while D'Vana Tendi played the drums. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
