Handling fee

A handling fee was a charge levied on participants in order to cover expenses incurred in the process of filling their request.

A handling fee, payable to the "bank" (Tom Paris himself), would have been subtracted from the pot of the Paris Radiogenic Sweepstakes before the winner claimed their prize. (VOY: "Meld")
