Handler

A handler was an intelligence agent who ran operations and managed the work of operatives in the field.

L'Rell served as Voq's handler after he was transformed into Ash Tyler via choH'a' in 2256. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")

For Starfleet Intelligence's Operation: Daybreak in 2401, which concerned the theft of quantum tunneling technology from Daystrom Station, Commander Ro Laren acted as a handler for Worf, who in turn acted as a handler for Commander Raffi Musiker. (PIC: "Disengage", "Imposters")
